Our firm successfully represented a New Jersey worker in a workers’ compensation claim involving a COVID-19 diagnosis that was contracted through exposure to a coworker in November 2020.
The claimant tested positive and was hospitalized in December 2020 for pulmonary complications related to the virus. He has since received ongoing pulmonary, neurological, and psychiatric treatment, as well as care for tinnitus (ringing in the ears), which we alleged stemmed from his COVID-19 diagnosis.
Due to the lasting effects of his condition, the individual left his job in August 2021 and was later awarded Social Security Disability benefits.
In June 2025, the case was settled with a finding of 75% permanent partial total disability, resulting in a gross award of $315,598.50.
