To be recognized for the work we have done – it is really and honor and a privilege.”
This year’s other awardees included Adam Liebtag, President of CWA Local Union 1036 and Dave Cicchino, Business Agent/JATC Administrator from Heat and Frost Insulators Local Union 89.
The Knights of Labor was founded in Philadelphia in 1869 and had originally been established as a secret fraternal order that advocated the inclusion, in one union, of all the workers in the country. By 1917 the Knights of Labor had dissolved but its wake the AFL (American Federation of Labor) was born. They later merged with the CIO (Congress of Industrial Organizations) and currently represent over 17 million union members in American. Locally, the Mercer County Central Labor Council is comprised of 50 Labor Unions with over 50,000 families.
