Lee v. Bizzari, et al.: a man who suffered serious injuries as a result of a road-rage assault was awarded a $1.6 million default judgment against two defendants on March 15, 2022.
In June 2018, Plaintiff, Matthew Lee, drove to a local drugstore. He was followed into the drugstore parking lot by defendant Silvio Bizzari, Jr. Bizzari started a verbal altercation with Lee that ended with Bizzari physically attacking Lee. Lee was caused to fall, striking the back of his head on the asphalt. Bizzari fled the scene but was later apprehended by police and charged with aggravated assault according to the plaintiff’s attorney, Sungkyu Lee of Pellettieri Rabstein & Altman in Lawrenceville.
Lee was seriously injured in the assault. He was rushed to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency brain surgery. He spent a month and a half in the ICU. The stress on his body from the intensive treatment caused him to suffer serious complications including a heart attacks and kidney failure. Lee was discharged to a rehabilitation facility where he had to re-learn how do perform basic tasks.
Fortunately, Lee was able to leave the rehabilitation facility and resume living independently. However, he was left with significant limitations that continue to affect all aspects of his life.
Lee filed suit against Bizzari and Susan Grieb, the owner of the vehicle that Bizzari was driving. Neither defendant entered an appearance. Judge Douglas Hurd, Pj. Civ. Entered a $1.6 million default judgment against the defendants on March 15, 2022.
